STATE SENIOR JUDGE OSCAR J. HALE JR. (Ret.)

Judge Hale has been a licensed attorney in Texas for over 30 years and served 20 of those years presiding on the bench as a state district court judge. After being re-elected four times without opposition, Judge Hale decided to take senior judge status and to devote his continued legal career to helping parties resolve their legal differences. To that end, he provides alternate dispute resolution (ADR) services in the following capacities: arbitrator, mediator, private judge and settlement consultant. ADR services are provided "in-person" statewide and also via video conferencing. Judge Hale is bi-lingual and is a fluent Spanish speaker.

 

During his career, he represented clients in many Texas courts ranging from Austin to Zapata including, plaintiffs and defendants, in cases involving custody and division of property disputes, medical malpractice, personal injury, products liability, and breach of fiduciary duty. 


Judge Hale has presided over thousands of civil, criminal and family law cases and earned a reputation for exemplifying an even keeled judicial temperament, a strong work ethic and a consistency in delivering fair and just rulings. He also has facilitated a multitude of productive informal settlement conferences and mediations on a variety of legal disputes, 

including construction litigation, custody disputes, partnership disputes, personal injury claims, probate matters and wrongful death claims.
